Anjali Murthy, M.D.

Orthopaedic Surgeon

Dr. Anjali Murthy grew up in Mountain View, California and moved to the East Coast for her undergraduate and post-graduate training. She received her undergraduate and medical degrees from New York University and completed her residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City. After a yearlong Fellowship in Hand Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pennsylvania, she returned to Northern California in 2011 and worked for Kaiser Permanente for 8 years. She is happy to join the CalSports team to offer highly personalized care for her patients.

Dr. Murthy is dual Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in General Orthopaedics and Hand Surgery. She is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.

Dr. Murthy specializes in the treatment of general Orthopaedics with a focus on the elbow, wrist and fingers. Her interests include hand fractures, ligament injuries, nerve conditions, arthritis and tendinitis and how these injuries or conditions impact day to day function. The relationship between physician and patient is essential to her, and she believes that knowledgeable patients make the best decisions about their own treatment. Her primary goal is to meet your needs through comprehensive evaluation and treatment designed to help you achieve an active, pain-free lifestyle. By guiding you through the diagnostic process, she will help you to understand your own particular injury or condition, the treatment options available, and the rehabilitation involved to reach your goals. Many times nonsurgical treatment can resolve an injury or condition and she will explain that treatment option in depth. Dr. Murthy will always present a realistic view on the results you can achieve together, surgical or nonsurgical, as well as any risks that may be involved.

Her personal interests include hiking, traveling and reading.
